About Dalton design

Dalton design is a planning and architectural consultancy based in Hampshire established in 1995 and run by the owner Bob Dalton (MCIOB) who has over 35 years experience in architecture, planning, interior design & project management.

During his extensive career Bob has worked for a number of well respected architectural practices in Winchester and Southampton, which has proved invaluable in gaining his broad experience in many sectors of his profession.

Bob is very much ‘hands on’ and productive in taking projects from early inception stage through to completion and over the years has also been responsible for heading up design teams in architectural and interior design studios for past employers.

Bob is CAD and computer literate but always reverts to hand drawn sketches for initial designs and concepts as he believes that design needs to be free of computer constraints to enable fluid designs to evolve.

Bob has a particular interest and passion in modern and contemporary architecture and good design.

Bob also has an interest in golf course design and has carried out a number of redesigns of greens on golf courses around the country, which include Betchworth Park, Cuddington, Pachesham, Purley Downs, Royal Blackheath, West Surrey and Windlesham.

Bob’s design philosophy is very simple ‘Less is more’ a phrase and aphorism adopted in 1947 by German-American architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
